Heading to Scotland for a holiday, any recommendations for distillery tours?

Hey pals, has anyone done a distillery visit in Scotland?

I’m planning a trip to Scotland and we’re thinking of doing a few distillery visits. Thinking of visiting Islay, but wondering if it would be worth the trip. What do you think?

No prizes for guessing which is my favourite distillery!

While I haven’t been to Islay myself, many have told me that trip is definitely worth it, especially if you’re a fan of Ardbeg. the region is breathtakingly beautiful.

If you’re looking for very epic picturesque sights, then I would also recommend Lagavulin (or Ron Swanson’s favourite). I mean, just look at it:

That being said, if you’re looking to tour some of the mainland distilleries as well, there are plenty of great options in the Speyside region. Highly recommend Strathisla Distillery if it’s for the 'gram! It’s a rather obscure single malt but it’s been recognised as the most beautiful Scotch distillery in the country.

Within Speyside, of course, there are also other famous distilleries such as Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet. They’re all really close to each other in this general area.

Whatever you decide, I’m sure you’ll have an amazing trip. Take care and have fun! Kanpai!
